GROWING THE SEED OF TRUTH IN WEEDED GROUNDS
(A reflection on the challenges confronting the early church at Corinth)
Weeds is defined as; Plant considered undesirable, unattractive, or troublesome, especially one that grows where it is not wanted and often grows or spread fast or takes the place of desired plants.
We live in present times surrounded by growing weeds of undesirable, burdensome, and destructive new ideas, principles, regulations, behaviors and practices that are becoming a norm; in fact, some of these have become a lifestyle of many. Yet for those found by Christ, were entrusted the seed of truth to make it grow. The challenge is enormous, the field is so large, but the opportunity is limitless. In Christ, we can be in one mind working together for same purpose and same hope. The hope that the seed He entrusted us will grow even in the midst of the weeds.
1 Corinthians 3:7-9 & 16-7 (NLT)
(7) It is not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow. (8) The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. (9) For we are both God's workers. And you are God's field. You are God's building.
(16)Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and the Spirit of God lives in you? (17)God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.
